How do I add a friend to my garden?
Tap the "Add Friend" icon in the bottom navigation bar. Enter their name, choose a flower and pot, and set how often you'd like to connect. Tap "Plant" to add them to your garden.
How does the health score work?
Each friend has a health score based on how recently you connected compared to your set cadence. The longer you go without connecting, the lower the score — and the more your plant wilts. Tap "I reached out today" to restore it to full health.
What is "Help me start"?
Bloom can generate a warm, personalised message to help you reach out to a friend. Open a friend's profile, select a tone, and tap "Help me start." The message is generated using AI based on what you know about that friendship.
What is Today's Bloom?
Each day, Bloom highlights one friend who could use some attention. It's a gentle nudge to reach out — not overwhelming, just intentional.
How do notifications work?
Bloom sends gentle reminders when a friendship needs attention or an important date is coming up. You can control notification timing and frequency in Settings.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → scroll to the bottom → tap "Reset Everything." This permanently deletes your account and all associated data. You can also email us and we'll handle it for you.
Where is my data stored?
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud provider with row-level security. Only you can access your own data. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Bloom Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Bloom ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Bloom: Friendship Garden mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Bloom. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials through Supabase, our authentication and database provider.

Friend Data: Names, notes, important dates, photos, and connection history for the friends you add to your garden. This data is entered by you and stored securely in your account.

Usage Data: Basic interaction data used to improve the app experience, such as which features you use.

Notification Preferences: Your notification settings and schedule preferences.

When you use "Help me start," relevant friend details are sent securely to our AI service (Anthropic Claude, accessed through our own server). Your data is used only to generate the message and is not stored or used to train AI models.

Your data is stored in Supabase with row-level security enabled, ensuring that only authenticated users can access their own records. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings screen within the app, or by emailing us at bloom.friendshipapp@gmail.com. Upon account deletion, all your data is permanently removed from our database.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise any of these rights, use the in-app account management features or contact us directly.

9. Children's Privacy

Bloom is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

Bloom Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Bloom ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Bloom is a friendship-tending application that helps you stay connected with the people you care about. Features include a friendship garden, reminders, AI-powered message suggestions, and memory tracking.

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to use Bloom. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information during registration.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App; use the App for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' data; or interfere with the App's operation.

5. AI-Generated Content

AI-generated message suggestions are provided for convenience and informational purposes only. You are solely responsible for any messages you send. We make no warranties regarding the accuracy or suitability of AI-generated content.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, its design, features, and content (excluding user-generated data) are owned by Bloom and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of all data you enter into the App.

7. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from the App's settings. Upon deletion, all your data — including friend profiles, notes, and account information — will be permanently removed from our servers.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bloom shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
